GREEN FASHION WEEK IN PORTLAND
Portland, OR is hosting their fashion week October 8-12 in the Pearl District. Several independant and eco-friendly designers from all over the country and the world will be launching their Spring/Summer 2009 Collections.
Portland Fashion Week is the only fashion week in the US completely devoted to green designers. We'll be keeping an eye on it. For now, you can read more about here!

Trend Alert
SHUT YOUR FACE!
My friend was talking to me on the phone the other day when he mentioned he hates the trendy sunglasses he sees all the guys wearing around Portland. He then described them as having slats like those on shutters where the lens should be. I was intrigued. Naturally, I found a pair on Urban Outfitters.com. Oh, I feel so old and out-of-the-loop for not knowing about this hot, ugly trend!

Link of the Week
My good friend Jim Brown works at The Gold Door, a shop in Portland, OR that carries amazing jewelry, folk and tribal art, and rare finds from all over the world. Owner Jerry Shover and staff (including Jim) travel the globe in search of the rare and exquisite pieces.
Over the years I've received some really lovely gifts from Jim and have been lucky enough to shop in the store. If you're not in Portland or fortunate enough to have Jim Brown as your bud, you can shop their online store. You can also buy gift certificates online. Go Now!
