TRASH TALK

Speaking of LC, there is a hilarious article in New York Magazine by The Fug Girls about trying to get in to see Lauren's collection at fashion week and having to stand next to a dumpster. You get the point they were trying to make.

You can read it here.

FASHION WEEK IN LA LA LAND

It's Fashion Week in LA. So far, a lot of collections have gone down the runway, one of which belongs to The Hills' Lauren Conrad. Her spring 2009 line is pretty yawn-worthy. It looks like something you could find in any department store. There are only a couple pieces I liked including this blue and black getup.

What Lauren missed in splash, Ed Hardy made up for in cacophonous color. It looks like someone broke into his workroom with a arsenal of spray paint. I would expect nothing less, of course.

CHRISTIAN'S FIERCE COLLECTION

Speaking of Fashion Week, Christian Siriano debuted his Spring 2009 Collection back in September. He used a lot of grey, which I love, with some splashes of salmon and yellow. A lot of the grey and black peices are gorgeous. Can't say I LOVE the whipped creme tower-looking dresses, but I love Christian and the designs are interesting. You can see all the looks here.

PRETTY IN PINK: LAKME FASHION WEEK IN INDIA

It's been Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. The runways have been filled with gorgeous designs Designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed stunned audiences Monday with a line inspired by the "pink city" of India, Jaipur. Most of his Autumn/Winter 2008 collection was filled with peach, silver, fuchsia, burgundy, and rose colored garments.

"I love Jaipur, it is my romance for the pink city that inspired my collection," the designer said after his show on day three of the fashion week. "The clothes blend Indian and European sensibilities and heavily showcase architecture blends of the mazes and pavilions of Jaipur."
Ahmed is one of 57 designers showcased at Lakme Fashion Week, which ended on Wednesday.

ALL BETS ON BETSY

One of my fave designers, Betsy Johnson, will show her fall 2008 collection today at Fashion Week. This marks 30 years in the business for the spritely designer. I'm betting that her fall collection will be fantastic, making me drool and wish I had loads of money to buy her goodies.

But since it's still winter, and fall
2008 seems a long way off, I've been looking at her spring 2008 collection, which she showcased back in 2007. Her collection featured lots of pastels and polka dots accenting ultra-girly dresses with voluminous skirts. It looked like a pastel prom if pastels and proms were actually cool. Here are a few of my favorites. You can view the whole collection here.
