SHOES. . . BETCH
Here's a "look" back at the shoes that have shaped my life and ruined my feet over the past 15 years.

FASHION FLASHBACK #1: FRONT YARD PHOTO SHOOT
Looking at this blog, I fear that it's become a little heavy on the reality (or unreality) TV and a little too "newsy." The fashion blogs that I like most are those that are a bit more intimate in nature. In an effort to make this blog more personal, I'm going to start running a post called "Fashion Flashback" in which I recount an instance in my life influenced by fashion.
For the first post of this kind, let's go back. Waayyyy back. My sister and I used to stage our own fashion photo sessions and shoot them using our mother's Kodak instamatic or disc camera (remember those?). We got really creative, imagining that we were posing in Vogue or Elle.
This shot of me was taken during one of those sessions. I'm on the front lawn of the house I grew up in. I believe I was about thirteen-years-old. I remember something about this picture having to do with "Nights in White Satin" by The Moody Blues. I think the music was actually playing or maybe it was just in my head. I was probably thinking of Simon LeBon as well.
In any case, I was trying to be a high fashion bride. The veil was actually a diaphanous white bathrobe that belonged to my mother and the dress was fashioned out of a frilly tablecloth. Love the old red Pontiac (or whatever it was) in the background. So high fashion, don't you think?
